More Art is a non-profit program devoted to creating a link between artists and the community at large. By looking beyond traditional artvenues, More Art fosters an appreciation of the many ways artists can make art accessible to all. The purpose of More Art is to draw on art's connecting potential to bridge cultural and social gaps in developing communities. More Art is committed to bringing innovative art projects to people from all walksof life.
Since its founding in 2003, More Art hascollaborated with Chelsea institutions such as The Clinton Middle School forWriters and Artists, Hudson Guild (Senior Center and Youth Center), and the Schoolof Visual Arts. It has commissioned and produced several collaborative artprojects, which have spanned all possible media, including photography, video,painting, installation, and performance, and which have involved establishedprofessional artists and local residents.
